〔財經頻道/綜合報導〕臉書擬發行加密貨幣Libra,正面臨美國國會議員和監管機構的強烈反彈。美國最大加密貨幣交易所Coinbase執行長阿姆斯壯(Brian Armstrong)5日喊話,在中國傳出計劃推出法定數位貨幣之際,希望美國政府重新考慮其對臉書加密貨幣計劃的「荒謬」反應。
《Cointelegraph》報導,阿姆斯壯5日在推特上表示,他認為美國政府對Libra的反應,就像是他們幾乎想被其他國家拋在腦後。他還在另1則推文中表達了對美國可能因阻礙創新而變得過時的擔憂。
阿姆斯壯說:「各國要長期保持相關性並繼續維持高經濟成長的方式是投資科學、技術和創新, 如果政府能在這方面提供幫助,那就更好了,但首先,政府沒必要對這方面造成傷害。」
阿姆斯壯解釋,創新往往看似有悖直覺和具顛覆性,但最好的第1步是置身事外。他還抨擊政府經常受到特殊利益集團的影響,這些集團「會利用恐懼,試圖阻礙創新」。
臉書今年6月宣佈,計劃在明年推出加密貨幣Libra,吸引多家知名公司加入合作行列,不過隨著多國政府表態反對,第3方支付服務巨頭PayPal上週宣佈退出合作。
